The Parish Council has received this message from the Borough Council regarding orange waste bags. Please use them if you still have any.
“Due to the current pandemic, with limited supplies of orange recycling sacks and stretched resources to maintain the bin collections, we are unable to continue providing recycling sacks to collection points at this time. As I mentioned previously, the Council now accepts extra recycling alongside the recycling bin if it is placed in a clear sack or cardboard box. We would also remind residents to make full use of their bin by squashing items down and making sure items go into the bin loose. If residents require further assistance with their recycling, please do ask them to email: recycling@bedford.gov.uk or call 01234 718060″
We understand they will also take away large cardboard boxes, if they are flattened and placed to the side of your orange bin, rather than trying to force them into the bin.
